Veggie 2013: week 11

A week of warm, sunny weather has made all the difference in the garden.

The snails are munching away on the rhubarb leaves. Rather there then on the pea plants.

First pea pod!

Carrots, courgettes and broad beans. The courgettes are running rampant. They love a big planter all to themselves.

Peas, peas and more peas. And blessedly, about half a dozen bees busily pollinating. Hoorah.

The broad beans in the veggie patch are finally growing, but the slugs and snails appear to be rappelling down to nibble on them.

The tomato plants are getting very big and bushy. Lots of flowers too. Fingers crossed that there are lots of tomatoes.
